Blue Heron Canoe Family will lead this workshop of songs, dances, and stories of the Tribal Canoe Journey – an annual gathering of Indigenous Nations canoe cultures in the Pacific Northwest.
Canoes have always been an important part of indigenous culture in the Pacific Northwest, for travel, trade, resource gathering, community building, and more. They are rich with traditions and each canoe is a family. The Tribal Canoe Journey may have as many as 100 canoes, travelling together as a community of canoe families to recognize and celebrate sovereignty, language, and culture.
Come join Blue Heron Canoe Family as they sing and teach the songs, dances, and traditions of the canoe journey!
FREE to attend
