Maritime Music at Holiday Lights

The maritime heritage organizations at Lake Union in Seattle will have a collaborative event on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 24, called Holiday Lights.  As part of the activities, there will be three hours of maritime and holiday music on the Virginia V, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, sponsored by Maritime FolknetChris Roe, with her concertina and enchanting voice, will start off the music at 2:00 pm.  J. W. Sparrow will follow at 3 pm, with his Northwest stories in song.  Dan Roberts, from 4 to 5 pm, will round out the afternoon with his usual wit & humor, delivered in a deep bass-baritone.

Also on the Virginia V will be children’s craft activities from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, including ornament and card making.  Kids will be able to color a picture of Santa visiting the Arthur Foss, and will be able to tour the Arthur Foss themselves, next to the Virginia V at the Historic Ships Wharf, 860 Terry Ave N.  The festivities will continue into the evening with some music from MOHAI and the arrival of the Argosy lighted ships.
